Kelly Clarke is a creative editor with two decades of experience in reporting, research, project management and community engagement/wrangling.

I served as the Editor in Chief of Portland Monthly, an award winning monthly magazine, managing a sharp team of editors, writers, and designers. I’ve penned travel features on regional American gems like Ojai, California and White Salmon, Washington as well as countless neighborhood guides. I’ve reviewed white tablecloth dining rooms and the best noodle soup shops this side of Hanoi. I’ve traced Portland’s deep food history as well as eaten my way through every doughnut in town.

I’ve written about everyone from chefs on the cusp of international stardom to feminist guitarists and size-inclusive hiking activists as well as some less savory characters. I’ve especially loved editing lively magazine packages devoted to women who change and advance our world and my time serving as a mentor for a group of young female creatives in Portland.

Recently, I shaped and shared the stories of the more than 200 countries attending Expo 2020 Dubai, on the massive global event’s innovative virtual platform. I also teamed up with immersive experience pros Hexagram and virtual events team Hovercast to create an interactive livestreaming tour show for this next gen World’s Fair on Twitch, YouTube and Facebook, which accrued more 50 million views during its six month run.

I’m currently available for exciting and satisfying contract and long-term projects. I thrive on creative challenges, human-sized interactions, and large-scale undertakings–contact me and let’s talk about how we can work together in the future.
